Payzone, Ireland’s largest consumer payments network, has announced that it has acquired the EasyPaymentsPlus and MyEasyPay payment platform businesses.

The move comes as Payzone, which as over 3,000 branded retail agents across the country, diversifies further into customized payment solutions to meet consumer demand for more electronic transactions.

EasyPaymentsPlus and MyEasyPay were developed by Irish owned FeePay Ltd, and one the FeePay founders, Mary Kelly, will join the management team at Payzone.

EasyPaymentsPlus provides organisations such as schools, clubs and small businesses with a ready-made ‘branded’ online payment facility and data management tools that enable their customers to make easy, secure payments.

The service processes over €40m worth of transactions annually, with over 140,000 people registered and making payments through the system.

Meanwhile MyEasyPay is designed for people such as tradespeople, field sales teams, private contractors and professional associations who wish to get paid online or by phone.

Describing the acquisition as “an excellent fit for the Payzone brand”, Jim Deignan, CEO at Payzone Ireland, said that the move would enable Payzone to “bring further innovative services to our consumer base around the country that deliver more choice, convenience and the ability to make payments easier for our customers.”
