O'Reilly scoops top business accolade
Cameron O'Reilly (above), the chief executive of international energy management specialist Landis+Gyr, has been named "International Irish Business Person of the Year" by 'Business & Finance' magazine.
Mr O'Reilly, who co-founded the recently rebranded group which specialises in the provision of metering solutions to utilities firms that identify energy consumption in more detail than conventional methods, will be awarded for building a global leader in energy management at a banquet at the New York Athletic Club on July 24.
Commenting on the award, Ian Hyland, publisher of 'Business & Finance', said: "He (Cameron) is a business leader to watch in the months and years ahead." Mr O'Reilly said he was honoured by the decision and said the award belongs to the firm's 5,000 employees.
Other winners include Wyeth Pharmaceuticals chief Bernard Poussot who will be awarded for the company's contribution to Ireland. Last year's honorees were Intel chairman Craig Barrett and Garrett Kelleher, executive chairman of the Shelbourne Development Group.
