O'Reilly gets top WAN job
GAVIN O'Reilly, the chief operating officer at Independent News & Media, has been appointed acting president of the World Association of Newspapers (WAN).
Mr O'Reilly was appointed following the resignation from the post of Seok Hyun Hong, who is to become Korean Ambassador to the United States.
Mr O'Reilly will become president of WAN at the organisation's next annual general meeting, to be held in June.
WAN is headquartered in Paris and represents 18,000 newspapers.
