Optimise development fund is launched
THE Irish Internet Domain Registry formally launched its Optimise development fund yesterday. It will award €10,000 to 10 SMEs to enable them to upgrade their online presence to a full transaction-enabled website. Application forms are available at www.why.ie/optimise.
Ryanair passenger numbers jump by 10pc
RYANAIR'S booked passenger traffic jumped 10pc in April to 6.8 million compared to the corresponding month in 2010, the airline said yesterday. The increase brought its total number of passengers carried in the 12 months to the end of April to 74.2 million. The load factor in April climbed two percentage points to 85pc. Ryanair shares were virtually unchanged yesterday at €3.42.
Friends First/F&C tops credit funds table
PENSION funds made modest gains during April, with an average return of 0.8pc for the month. Friends First/F&C took top spot with a return of 1.2pc for the month, while Aviva Investors and Merrion Investment Managers propped up the league table with returns of 0.4pc. The average managed fund lost 0.1pc over the first four months of the year.
