Suzanne Jackson, founder and chief executive of Sosu by Suzanne Jackson Cosmetics, has announced she is planning to invest in new business ventures.

Speaking to the Sunday Independent, Jackson, who is also known for her SoSueMe blog, said she decided to invest money into new projects following the success of her make-up brands.

Accounts for her beauty firm, SanFran Cosmetics, showed a profit of €900,000 in 2018, up from nearly €750,000 the previous year.

"Seeing my own businesses grow how they have in the last 10 years has given me such a sense of pride and achievement," said Jackson. "I want to help others achieve the same. It will also be a new challenge for me and, as an entrepreneur, that is what gets me out of bed in the morning.

"I am genuinely open to all opportunities. I want to be able to add value to a business, so naturally it would be better if it was an industry I had some insight into or a natural flair for. However, never say never, I am open to learning also."

Jackson said she plans to help guide entrepreneurs in any business she chooses to invest in.

"I don't do 'hands off'," she said. "Ask any of my team, I am a hands-on type completely.

"Marketing is my area and where I feel I excel, so that is probably the area I would be most excited about contributing to. I have great contacts, so I can indirectly help in other areas of a business too."

The businesswoman said she would love to help an Irish entrepreneur, but she was still open to ideas from further afield.

Jackson said her beauty brands were thriving as her team plots an expansion into new countries.

"My team and I are concentrated on the international growth of my brands right now," she said. "That is my dream - to see Sosu by Suzanne Jackson stocked on shelves in the USA, Australia and the Middle East.

"Also, continuing to challenge myself and grow is a major part of my 2020 plans. I want to push myself outside of my comfort zone even more."
