New store openings and an improved online retail performance led the Kilkenny group to post record turnover of €27.6m for the year ended January 31 2015.
Group marketing director Greg O'Gorman told the Sunday Independent that the group has also been spurred forward by increased footfall from tourists, and expects further growth from that source this year because of the strength of the dollar.
O'Gorman wants to drive the business online, with a 5 year online expansion plan currently in the works - the goal is to break the US market initially and then expand further afield, aiming to bring Irish craft and design to the diaspora.
The Group is also on the hunt for new stores. Management's attitude is that Kilkenny will open at least one new store by the end of the year "should the right opportunity come along". O'Gorman said the group has had a number of approaches in the last week.
The company recently announced it has taken over the sponsorship of the 'Best Dressed Lady' competition at the Galway Races.
The summer racing festival is worth over €55m to Galway but the 'Best Dressed Lady' at the festival on July 30 will take home prizes worth €10,000, including a shopping spree at the Kilkenny Shop, Aideen Bodkin clothes, Maureen Lynch jewellery, a five-star Blue Book luxury break, Waterford Crystal and a year's haircare from Peter Mark.
There will also be prizes for Best Irish Design and Best Hat.
"It allows us to do something a little bit different and to really show that we're moving in the right direction," O'Gorman said.
