Naughton in €300m 'The World' pad
Art-loving billionaire entrepreneur and philanthropist Martin Naughton is believed to have a lovely apartment onboard The World, the €300m giant luxury liner that's touring around Ireland.
The Glen Dimplex owner and one of Ireland's richest men is understood to be a member of the wealthy community with one of 165 lavish apartments on the 644-foot exclusive residential vessel.
The World is on a perpetual tour of glamorous locations around the globe – and, at present, Ireland. Naughton, thought to be worth €1.5bn, is credited with bringing the floating mansion to these shores.
Having first docked in Belfast, it arrives in Galway tomorrow and Dublin on Thursday with its wealthy residents from 19 countries.
Highlights of this year's cruise included polar-bear spotting on an expedition to Russia's White Sea, a voyage through Norway's fjords and a visit to Casablanca.
The floating luxury vessel has six gourmet restaurants, tennis courts, swimming pools, putting greens, bali beds to lounge on, a spa, library and cinema and a helipad.
It has a designated "enrichment manager" assigned to ensure its moneybags cruisers want for nothing onboard.
It aims for the ambiance of a "well-staffed private home or exclusive country club", the blurb says.
Some residents live permanently on board, while others reside there for some weeks or months of the year.
