Irish law firm McCann FitzGerald is increasing its investment and reach in the US market.

As part of its investment the company has appointed senior associate Richard Gill to its New York office.

Mr Gill specialises in aviation and asset finance at the group, acting for a number of prominent operating lessors and financiers in the aviation industry including AerCap, Nordic Aviation Capital, Orix Aviation, and BOC Aviation.

Mr Gill advises clients on a wide variety of aviation and asset finance matters, including cross-border aircraft portfolio financings, export credit agency backed financings, aircraft sale and leaseback transactions, capital market transactions and debt restructurings.

He also has extensive experience drafting and negotiating aircraft leasing, servicing, financing and security agreements, as well as advising clients in connection with the acquisition and disposal of operating leasing companies.

"McCann FitzGerald is excited to be expanding the range of services it offers clients from the US market," said McCann FitzGerald managing partner Barry Devereux.

"The increasing demand for legal services from US-based aviation and asset finance clients means that Richard's arrival in New York allows us to grow the services we offer clients and increase our focus on this important market."

Recently the company has been involved in a number of significant US-Ireland transactions including acting for AerCap on four completed unsecured bond offerings with a total value of $3.55bn.
