Irish snack company Manhattan, known for its peanuts and popcorn, is planning to extend its food production and warehouse building in Finglas, Co Dublin.
Last week, Manhattan submitted an application seeking planning permission for the extension with Dublin City Council. It would comprise an additional floor area of more than 1,900 sq m.
Manhattan Peanuts is a wholly owned Irish family business that employs more than 50 people at its Finglas factory. The company manufactures and distributes a range of snack foods, of which popcorn is its fastest-growing.
The company started in 1957, pioneering the American method of popping corn here in Ireland. Manhattan came to Finglas in 1977.
Other products in the Manhattan snack range include pistachio nuts and Manhattan Crisps.
