Manager of €5bn assets including debt leveraging
CAPVEST, which was co-founded in 1999 by Seamus Fitzpatrick and long-standing American associate Randl Shure, manages over €5bn of assets in its funds, including leverage.
CapVest is backed by American International Group (AIG).
It has been involved in €2.3bn-worth of deals so far this year - both on the buying and the selling side.
The Vaasan & Vaasan transaction counts as its biggest sale this year.
Its purchase of a 50pc-plus stake in the Mater Private counts as its chunkiest acquisition in 2007.
Other companies in its stable include the Findus brand in Scandinavia and Young's Bluecrest Seafood in Britain.
CapVest also has a unit called MezzVest which takes small stakes and provides mezzanine finance, a hybrid of debt and equity, to companies.
CapVest's investments in this area include BSN Medical in Germany, Serona Dental Systems in Switzerland, and Diana Ingredients in France.
