Former RTE Dragon Bobby Kerr shared in a €3.37m windfall before exiting the Insomnia coffee business last year. New accounts show that the exceptional costs of €3.37m hit profits.

The accounts for BHJ Holdings Ltd show that a 25pc drop in pre-tax profits to €503,406. Revenues increased by 18pc to €28.78m.

The broadcaster left Insomnia last December after he sold his shares in the business he'd led for years.

Accounts show that directors' pay of €3.86m included an exceptional pension cost of €3.2m while Mr Kerr received severance pay of €137,988. Emoluments to directors totalled €485,881. It is not disclosed what portion of the €3.2m pension payment Mr Kerr received.
