Kevin Toland to begin CEO role at Aryzta in September
Aryzta, the Dublin-listed global food business, has confirmed that Kevin Toland will commence his role as CEO of the company on 12 September.
Mr Toland, a former executive at Glanbia, served as head of the Dublin Airport Authority since 2012 before being announced for the top position at Aryzta in May of this year.
In addition Aryzta, which is behind brands such as Cuisine de France and Shamrock Foods, has confirmed that Juergen Steinemann has been appointed to the board of the company as an Independent Non-Executive Director.
The appointment is subject to approval by Aryzta shareholders at its AGM in December.
Mr Steinemann brings more than 25 years of senior management experience with him to Aryzta having served as Barry Ballebaut CEO from August 2009 to September 2015, before which he served as chief financial officer at Nutreco between 2001 and 2009.
Commenting on the appointment of Mr Steinemann, Gary McGann, chairman of Aryzta said that he was "delighted" at the appointment.
"With his [Mr Steinemann] appointment we have further diversified and deepened the skills, background, and experience of our Board," Mr McGann said.
Earlier this year Aryzta reported flat revenue of €975.2m for the three months to April 30.
The group continued to experienced difficult trading conditions in North America, where underlying revenue declined 4.3pc for the three months to April 30.
The group’s performance was better in Europe where food sales in increased 3.9pc year-on-year to €436.9m, with organic sales growth of 4.3pc in the three months to April 30, according to the group's third quarter revenue update.
