Kerry Spring bottled water sale kicks off
A process to find a buyer for Kerry Spring, the Dingle-based bottled water producer, has kicked off following the appointment of a provisional liquidator at the end of July.
The company, based in Ballyferriter on the Dingle Peninsula, has continued to trade since the appointment of Myles Kirby of Ferris & Associates as provisional liquidator.
"I am confident of finding a buyer for the business," Mr Kirby said.
He has appointed Robert McKay of McKay Asset Valuers & Auctioneers to market the company for sale as a going concern.
Advertisments are expected to be posted in the national media over the next week.
Kerry Spring employs 32 people, around half of them at its Co Kerry bottling plant, as well as operating a distribution centre in Clondalkin in Dublin.
The brand has traded nationally for 25 years and has over 1,300 customers, mainly in the retail trade.
Dunnes Stores had been the largest customer of the business until a contract to supply to the retailer ended in July.
The impact of that on the company's cashflow is understood to have been a tipping point to the appointment of the provisional liquidator.
Kerry Spring is accredited as a natural mineral water by the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI).
