IRISH travellers flying to New York with Delta Airlines can look forward to flying into JFK's newly revamped Terminal Four, where the first stage of a $1.4bn revamp is completed.
The terminal, which will host Delta's international flights, has nine new and seven renovated gates as well as a 'Sky Club' with its own rooftop deck and a host of restaurants.
The terminal is now one of the largest in North America, at about 2m square feet. This is another attempt by Delta to grab a larger hold of the corporate and premium traveller market.
Last year the airline announced it was buying a 49pc stake in Virgin Atlantic, giving it a stronger perch at one of the most important business travel hubs in the world, Heathrow Airport.
Another phase of construction is now under way and should be completed by the summer of 2015.
