Jobs... Career Zoo returns to Dublin
Networking event Career Zoo will be held on February 21 in Dublin's Convention Centre.
The one-day jobs fair brings employers and employees together to fill vacancies in the financial services, pharmaceuticals, science and technology sectors. "Initiatives like Career Zoo are very welcome," Jobs Minister Richard Bruton said yesterday. "Career Zoo is an important event which brings together the companies who have vacancies with the skilled professionals who can fill those roles. I wish every success to those involved and hope that the event can be the start of a new phase for businesses and job-seekers alike".
The jobs fair will be a paperless event where delegates will be given 'Smart Badges' allowing them to exchange their CVs with employer profiles.
Organisers said there will be a so-called Tech Town and BioCluster, offering job seekers thousands of career opportunities in leading indigenous and multinational companies.
There will also be an International Financial District - where Bank of Ireland will hire at least 10 people on the day itself and talk to job seekers about other roles on offer with the group. Other companies hiring at the International Financial District include: PwC, JP Morgan and IFDS.
"Ireland is a hotbed of opportunities for talented people right now and our goal is to bring the two together. We want to give professionals the chance to meet these companies," Career Zoo director Brian Ó hOisín said.
