JLL bosses share €5.77m bonanza

Bosses at Dublin-based commercial property firm, Jones Lang Lasalle (JLL) last year enjoyed a pay bonanza as 13 directors shared €5.77m in pay - an average of €440,000 each.

New accounts filed show the 13-member board enjoyed soaring pay packets as the aggregate pay to directors jumped by 17pc or €822,000 - from €4.95m to €5.77m.

The leap in directors' pay coincided with the business sustaining a drop in revenues, going from €21.84m to €20.66m in 2016. Pre-tax profits deceased by 28pc going from €6.5m to €4.7m.

According to the directors' report "during the year turnover and net profit deceased by 5pc and 28pc, with 2015 being a record year". The directors state: "This business has continued to trade profitably in 2016 and the directors are confident about the future prospects for the business."

Numbers employed last year increased by 11 to 92 with staff costs, including directors' pay, decreasing from €12.2m to €11.5m.
