The Jameson distillery in Smithfield in Dublin is reopening this morning following an €11m investment.

Jameson owner Irish Distillers said the investment will allow the company expand visitor numbers to the Bow Street site by 2025. The Irish whiskey tourism strategy aims to treble the number of visitors  to Irish distilleries by 2025.

“We have had the privilege of calling Bow Street home since 1780 and we’re delighted with our new makeover,” said Ray Dempsey, who has been General Manager at the distillery since 1997.

“Visitors can look forward to immersive storytelling where they will be invited to touch, smell and most importantly, taste Jameson,” Mr Dempsey added.

Construction on the site began last September and was designed by Dublin-based TOTP Architects.
