IT company to create 180 jobs

Some 180 jobs are to be created over the next two years at one of Ireland's top home-grown IT firms.

Version 1's new staff will be taken on at its Dublin headquarters and its bases in Cork and Belfast.

The company expects business to grow by 30pc this year.

Jarlath Dooley, human resource director, said: "Last July we announced the creation of 100 jobs in three years but, given our strong performance, we expect to fill those roles in one year.

"As a 100pc Irish-owned and managed company, we are delighted to be beating the recession and creating jobs."

The positions will be for senior technology consultants, project, team and practice leads, as well as a number of graduate roles. Forty-five positions will be filled in the next three months.

Version 1 employs 265 staff at its three locations.
