Irish workforce goes global thanks to EPIC programme
Business in the Community, an organisation which links companies to charities, said yesterday it has helped almost 1,500 people from 97 countries to find employment or enter further education and training here in Ireland.
Some companies, including recruiter CPL and telecoms giant BT, provide free training to help foreign nationals enter the workforce here under the so-called EPIC programme. More than 200 of the latest participants in the programme graduated yesterday at an event in Bank of Ireland in College Green in Dublin.
"EPIC is an innovative programme which aims to assist people from immigrant communities find employment or enter further education," said Justice and Equality Minister Frances Fitzgerald at a presentation yesterday.
