Irish Stock Exchange closing due to extreme weather hitting Ireland
The Irish Stock Exchange (ISE) is altering its trading calendar in order to close the market during the worst of Storm Emma.
According to the ISE, the decision has been made to close at 12pm noon (Irish time) today, Thursday March 1 and for the entirety of Friday, March 2.
The closing auction will be from 11:40am to 11:42am (Irish time) and the post-trading phase will then take place ending at 12:00pm (Irish time).
The ISE said it was facilitating the market closure "due to the announcement by the Irish Government’s National Emergency Coordination Committee and the severe weather-related nationwide Status Red Warning, and to protect against any potential risk to market integrity in these exceptional circumstances".
It is expected that the market will open as usual on Monday, March 5.
