Irish businessmen including Denis O’Brien, Dermot Desmond and Martin Naughton on Forbes Rich List
IRISH businessmen including telecoms billionaire Denis O’Brien, financier Dermot Desmond and Glen Dimplex owner Martin Naughton have made it onto the Forbes 500 list of “The World’s Billionaires’ this year.
Mr O’Brien, who heads up telecoms firm Digicel, comes in at number 233 with an estimated wealth of $5.2bn.
Glen Dimplex owner Martin Naughton has an estimated wealth of $2bn while Mr Desmond’s fortune is worth about $1.8bn.
Irish citizen Pallonji Mistry, who has wealth valued at $9.7bn, largely from a share in India’s Tata Group, is number 96 on the list.
John Dorrance III, the grandson of the founder of Campbell Soup, comes in at 521 with an estimated wealth of $2.4bn.
For the third year in a row, the top slot sits with Mexican Telecoms mogul Carlos Slim Helu with an estimated wealth of $69bn.
