Cork-based brewery Muscraí Gaeltacht has launched Europe's first gluten-free craft beer range.
The new Stag Saor range includes five different types of craft beer - a red ale, a pale ale, an IPA, a Kilsch and a stout.
The craft beers were created by the 9 White Deer Brewery, which was formed in 2014. Co-founder Don O' Leary was diagnosed with a gluten intolerance soon after the opening and set about coming up with a product for those with similar conditions.
"The development of Stag Saor has changed everything for the business. It prompted us to research the market and see how limited the beer offering is for those with gluten intolerance," Mr O' Leary said.
Co-founder and brewer Gordon Lucey says the company is intent on meeting the needs of a niche set of customers.
