The inaugural Professional Women's Network (PWN) Global Gender Balanced Leadership Awards took place on Friday night.

PWN Global, a network of professionals rewarding gender-balanced leadership in the workplace and in society, chose Dublin to launch the inaugural global award ceremony.

Julie Sinnamon, CEO of Enterprise Ireland, opened the awards, sharing concerning figures about how much work remains to be done in Ireland in this area.

The winners included Pamela Quinn of Kuehne + Nagel Ireland, who was named best CEO. Joint winners for excellence in working for a charity/not-for-profit were Joanna O'Riordan of Mercer, working with PWN Global, and Joana Freitas and Catarina Soares, Leading Together, working with INSEAD. Winner of the training initiative of the year was Bernie O'Connor of ESB.
