Interim financial ombudsman appointed
The Financial Services Ombudsman Council has appointed PJ Fitzpatrick, former chief executive of Courts Service, as Financial Services Ombudsman.
A statement released by the council said the appointment will be for an interim period pending the appointment of a successor to Joe Meade, who retired as Financial Ombudsman on 2 January 2010.
The council says the process of replacing Mr Meade on a permanent basis has started with interviews due to be held later this month.
