Inflation: Prices rise by 0.1pc in the year to October

NEW figures show consumer prices, as measured by the CPI, were 0.1pc higher in October compared with the same period last year.

There were increases in the price of alcohol and tobacco as well as education and the restaurant/hotel sector.

But the price of clothing and shoes, furniture and transport were down on the year, according to the Central Statistics Office.

Prices were down 0.2pc in the month.
