IDA Ireland, the state-owned development authority, is asking €750,000 for a 5.1-acre free-hold site opposite the Tesco store in Gorey Town, Co Wexford.

Ann Smyth, of agents Colliers Jackson-Stops, explains that the site has 186m of frontage onto the Courtown Road and is zoned BTP -- Business and Technology Park -- under the Gorey local Area Plan 2002. "Uses permitted in principal and open for consideration include data-centres, enterprise centre/campus industry, retirement, medical and related consultants, light industrial and small scale manufacturing," she adds.

These uses may possibly include a nursing home or non- food retail outlets. Other occupiers in the IDA estate include Lumina Lighting, Gorey Stone Art, Cois Tine, MRB Tiles & Doors and ITW Crop Packaging.

Also in the south-east, the former Waterford Glass property in Dungarvan is being sold by the receiver David Carson of Deloitte. It consists of 143,000 sq ft of industrial buildings on a 15-acre site. Located about 1.5km west of Dungarvan town centre, it has 190m road frontage and a business development zoning.

Isobel O'Regan of the agents Savills is not quoting a guide price but local observers suggest that €1.5m. would secure the deal.
