Irish company HouseMyDog has merged with European competitor Gudog.

Established four years ago by Dubliners James and Timothy McElroy, HouseMyDog is an AirBnB-like alternative to kennels. It links people seeking dog-minders to local pet-lovers.

The merged company will be the largest platform of dog-walkers in Europe, with more than 25,000 approved dog-sitters and walkers in over 70 cities across eight European countries, including Ireland, the UK, Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Belgium.

Both companies will continue to operate under their existing brands, before amalgamating later this year.
