Hotel giant behind Galgorm Resort buys another Antrim hotel as part of €8m investment
The hotel giant behind the popular Galgorm Resort is adding the Antrim-based Templeton Hotel to its impressive hospitality suite.
The €8m (£7m) investment from the Galgorm Collection will transform the hotel's offering and create a jobs boost for the local economy.
Existing staff at the hotel will be retained while more than 50 additional jobs will be created as a result of the refurbishment.
Previously known as Tullymore House Ltd, Galgorm's recent addition marks a total of £10m investment over the last 12 months.
Last year, investments from the group included a £1.5m injection in Belfast City-based restaurants, Fratelli & Café Parisien, and the £600,000 purchase and refurbishment of the Castle Kitchen + Bar at Galgorm Castle Golf Club in Ballymena.
The flagship spa property, Galgorm Resort, is also about to open a number of new luxury cottages on the estate next month.
Managing Director Colin Johnston said the Templepatrick investment will strengthen the local community and economy, as well as cement Northern Ireland’s reputation as a world-class tourism destination.
The latest venture will bring the group's current employee count to close to 1000 people across all of its properties.
Galgorm resort hosted the World Luxury Spa & Restaurant Awards last year, and is the current holder of the Global Luxury Spa Hotel of the Year award.
