ONE of Dublin's HMV stores is set to be re-opened under a deal being negotiated in the UK.
The music chain's Henry Street outlet is understood to be part of a major plan involving specialist restructuring firm Hilco.
Around 300 workers lost their jobs at HMV's 16 Irish stores when they closed in January.
It was thought that all hope was lost when the receiver announced a month later that none would be saved.
Earlier this week HMV’s landmark shop on Grafton Street was advertised by an estate agent looking for a new tenant. The annual rent
for the four-storey premises has been dropped from €1.7m to €1m.
And while a number of high street clothing chains are rumoured to be interested in Grafton Street, music lovers will welcome news that Henry Street could reopen as HMV.
It is not yet clear how many employees it will take to run the new store but it is understood that up to 30 staff will be recruited.
