Playing in the US Open this week, three-time Major winner Padraig Harrington might have other things on his mind. But back at home, the company he's backed along with financier Dermot Desmond is being considered for a buy by tech giant Amdocs, it is believed.

Cork-based GoS Networks is a software firm owned mainly by a Jersey-based holding company.

Most recent accounts refer to a net loss of €1.67m to March last year, and it is being financed by an €11.5m parent-company loan, but its prospective price tag isn't known.

Amdocs is a €4.3bn software firm with revenues of over €2.5bn. Amdocs and GoS Networks didn't comment.
