Harding resigns at SBP
EDITOR of the Sunday Business Post Ted Harding is to resign from his position this weekend after three years in the job.
Chief executive of the paper, Fiachra O'Riordan, told staff yesterday that Mr Harding was leaving to pursue other personal and professional interests.
The newspaper is owned by publisher of the Examiner, Thomas Crosbie Holdings.
The newspaper's chapel of the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) expressed "shock and dismay" at Mr Harding's sudden departure and sought an urgent meeting with TCH Group managing director Anthony Dinan to discuss developments at the paper.
Yesterday, Mr O'Riordan said he had held a meeting with NUJ representatives and senior editorial staff. He said that fears about the independence of the paper had been allayed and that there had been no foundation for such fears.
Mr Harding (38) was previously deputy editor and is also a qualified barrister.
