U2’s Adam Clayton and The Edge presented an inaugural Impact Ireland Award to former President and United Nations High Commissioner Mary Robinson on Thursday in front of an audience of many of the biggest names in Irish politics and business.

The event was hosted by VentureWave Capital, an impact investment fund backed and advised by major figures in Irish business and in the diaspora. The dinner at Dublin’s Shelbourne Hotel was also addressed by Taoiseach Micheál Martin and former Taoiseach Enda Kenny.

Guests included EU Commissioner Mairead McGuinness, CPL founder Anne Heraty, Trinity Provost Linda Doyle, Avolon’s Dómhnal Slattery and Flutter chairman Gary McGann.
