Mountpark Logistics EU has received approval for the development of a major logistics hub in Baldonnell, south country Dublin.

Construction of the hub, which is due to commence in September, will create 120 jobs, while up to 850 jobs are expected to be created by the companies operating from the hub.

Overall the scheme could deliver 1,000 jobs to south Dublin.

“The project is a significant development for Mountpark and one that we have already invested heavily in. With the increasing importance of e-commerce, purpose built logistics facilities are strategically important. This site at Baldonnell is ideally located to serve Dublin and the eastern region,” Phillip O’Callaghan, MD of UK Developments at Mountpark said.

The development will consist of a number of units for logistics/warehouse use ranging in size from 10,837sqm to 21,934sqm, with the option to subdivide subject to tenant requirements.

Work has already begun to identify contractors for the project and the company intends to proceed to development as a matter of priority.

Mountpark Logistics EU, a joint venture between UK based Mountpark and the USAA Real Co company of America, specialises in building logistics centres.

Formed in 2014, the joint venture is already engaged in projects in the UK, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
