GrabOne's birthday bash to save customers €1m, a website owned by Independent News & Media, celebrated two years in business with a host of new offers for customers.

The company said yesterday it was launching a week-long campaign that would save its customers over €1m by stepping up the number and range of deals on offer.

GrabOne works by offering customers things to do, see, eat and buy for up to 90pc less than recommended retail prices.

A customer signs up via email and every day a new deal is advertised.

In two years, the company has grown rapidly and now boasts more than 500,000 customers – known as Grabbies – who make a purchase every 60 seconds. Around €20m has been spent on deals on the website since its launch, and two spin-off sites have been added to its arsenal of online deals – GrabOne Escapes for travel deals and GrabOne Store for product deals.

"We started this business when bagging a bargain was something to boast about rather than a purchase to hide.

"Word of mouth has helped us build a following of over half a million subscribers and thousands of happy partnerships," said managing director Ruairi Doyle.
