GloHealth attracts 52,000 customers in its first year
HEALTH insurance provider GloHealth says it secured 52,000 customers in its first year in business in Ireland, writes Peter Flanagan.
The firm said growth was "strong" among its consumer and business divisions. Its annual premium is said to top €35m.
Chief executive Jim Dowdall said the high number of clients was a "significant achievement when you consider the difficult market environment which has seen 61,000 customers leaving the health insurance market in the past 12 months alone".
Figures from GloHealth come days after the Irish Independent revealed insurance giants, including Aviva and VHI, are poised to offer cut-price plans in a bid to stem the exodus.
