Glanbia's sports nutrition company BSN said it is committed to its partnership with UFC champion Conor McGregor.

BSN signed McGregor in December, prior to his title fight with Jose Aldo. However, over the last week doubt has been cast over McGregor's career after he appeared to abruptly announce his retirement on Twitter.

When asked about the tweet BSN said: "BSN is committed to our partnership with Conor McGregor and we have no doubt he will continue to excel - no matter what the challenge he takes on."

McGregor's future is still up in the air with many believing his original tweet to be a power play.

Yesterday the mixed martial arts fighter took to Facebook to say that he is in fact not retired. Reports suggest that he canceled his "retirement" as the US Anti-Doping Agency mandate suggests that fighters must wait at least four months after coming out of retirement before they can compete again.

BSN's products range from lean muscle protein powder to amino acids.

The sports nutrition business has quickly risen to become one of the most important avenues for Glanbia as it continues to invest in a market believed to be worth €20bn by 2020.

In fact last year Glanbia's performance nutrition business was its largest earner, taking in €135.6m.
