Dublin's Four Seasons Hotel is to be known as the InterContinental Dublin from January 1 after the hotel's owner signed a franchise agreement with the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG).
IHG's chief development officer for Europe Robert Shepherd said the company was "thrilled to have signed this distinctive property".
"Our team is excited about the future of this hotel, and we look forward to building on our past and current success,"said Desmond Taljaard, managing director of the hotel's parent London & Regional Properties.
It has brands including Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn in its portfolio.
The InterContinental Dublin will operate under a franchise agreement with Ballsbridge Hotel Limited, an affiliate of London & Regional Properties. It will be located in the former Four Seasons Hotel Dublin, one of Ireland’s top-rated hotels.
The hotel features 197 rooms inclusive of 58 suites, an indoor swimming pool, spa and fitness centre, two restaurants and two bars.
It also boasts meeting and event space with two ballrooms totalling more than 15,000 square feet
