Former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern in Iran, to give speech on European co-operation
FORMER Taoiseach Bertie Ahern is in Iran this week and his engagements will include a speech on European co-operation.
Ahern, who resigned as Taoiseach in 2008, is heading up a business delegation and was welcomed by Iranian Deputy Labour Minister for International Affairs Mohammad Taqi Hosseini.
He will also hold a number of talks with senior Iranian officials as well as private sector representatives.
He is scheduled to make a speech about European co-operation.
After agreeing to limit its nuclear capabilities, Iran has been trying to grow trade partnerships with the West.
