Former Mango store available for new lease

The former Mango store at 10 Patrick Street, on Cork's principal shopping street, is being offered for rent and the agents Lisney are guiding €375,000 per annum exclusive for a new lease.

The four-storey building provides retail accommodation at ground and first-floor level extending to around 500.2sqm with office/stockroom accommodation on the second and third floors of 130 sqm (1,700sqft).

A former bank branch, which was acquired by a Cork property investor in the early 1990s, the premises is located between Marks and Spencer and Debenhams department Store.


Retail opportunities are also available in the towns of Naas and Portlaoise.

In the latter a 364sqm. retail unit is available for rent in Lyster Square.

The agents Lisney are quoting a rent tag of €70,000 per annum.

It benefits from display windows at ground and first- floor levels, with the first floor also featuring a curved dome.

There is also double height at the front of the shop with a balcony at first-floor level overlooking the shop floor.

Lyster Square is the main car-parking facility for the town and links the shopping centres with other local facilities.


In Naas, local agent Darac O'Neill is quoting a rent of €14,000 a year for a 54.02sqm ground-floor retail unit at 2 Frederick House, New Row, in the town which had been occupied by Recharge Office Supplies.

Located within minutes walk of Main St, the premises also benefits from kitchen and toilet facilities as well as customer and staff parking spaces.

He says that Naas retail units are letting for around €260 to €300 per sqm.

He recently negotiated a rent of €30per sqft for a retail outlet at 13a South Main St, which is being let to John Conroy Menswear, a local business which is moving from its existing location on Moat Mall.


On the north side of Cork City, the Love family's Shipton Group has signed up discount retailer Aldi for 11,000 sq ft of ground retail space plus 5,000 sq ft of first-floor storage space at the Blackpool Retail Park.

Aldi plans to open for business in time for the Christmas market. Agents DTZ Sherry FitzGerald are quoting €28 per sq ft for space in the retail park. Other retailers already in the park include Heatons, Atlantic Homecare, Argos Extra and Next Home.

The adjacent shopping centre is anchored by Dunnes Stores.
