Former BoI boss Richie Boucher appointed to board of CRH
Former Bank of Ireland boss Richie Boucher has been appointed to the board of CRH as a non-executive director.
Ireland’s biggest company made the announcement on the same day it released results showing earnings of €3.3bn in 2017, a 3pc increase on the same period in 2016 on a like-for-like basis.
Last year the African-born Mr Boucher stepped down from his role as CEO of Bank of Ireland after almost nine years at the helm.
Prior to becoming CEO of the bank, Mr Boucher (59) held a number of key senior management roles within Bank of Ireland, Royal Bank of Scotland and Ulster Bank.
He is a past President of the Institute of Banking in Ireland and of the Irish Banking Federation.
In addition to the CRH appointment – which is effective immediately – Mr Boucher is a consultant for Fairfax Financial Group, and acts as its nominee on the Board of Atlas Mara, a company with investments in banks in Africa.
Mr Boucher is also a non-executive director of Eurobank Ergasias SA, a bank based in Athens, Greece which has operations in Greece and several other European countries.
