FLYEfit is set to open three new gyms as part of a €6m expansion plan that sees the firm move into the Cork market for the first time.

The low cost gym has grown in popularity across its existing 11 sites in Dublin due to its flexible, no contract, business model.

Cork city's FLYEfit will be based at Stapleton House in Oliver Plunkett Street and will include a conditioning chamber, ski ergs, assault bikes and air runners.

This hub and the two new Dublin operations, at Pearse Street in Sallynoggin and  Fonthill Road in Liffey Valley, are scheduled to open in early January 2019.

Ranging in size between 20,000 and 25,000 sq ft, all three will feature spin studios, cardio and strength equipment, an astro area, a sree weights and functional zone, boxing zones and Olympic lifting platforms.

FLYEfit's expansion in the capital has been rapid, with the opening in three gyms, at CHQ vaults, Stillorgan and Tallaght, this year alone.

A spokesperson for the firm that that the group is expanding into the Dublin suburbs and Cork "in response to customer demand".

"We are especially delighted to open in Cork which has been on our horizon for some time."
