Five-star Powerscourt reports 'strong trading'
The five star hotel that hosted one of Rosanna Davison's three wedding bashes last summer recorded "a strong trading performance in 2014".
That is according to a spokesman for the operators of Powerscourt Hotel and spa in Enniskerry, Co Wicklow.
He commenting yesterday on new accounts which show that the business recorded pre-tax losses of €4.7m in 2013.
Figures lodged for Sugarloaf Ventures show that the firm recorded the loss after revenues topped €13.4m between February 21 and December 31, 2013.
That year was the hotel's first year of operation under new ownership.
A spokesman for owners Tetrarch Capital said that "2013 was a year of transition for the business as we moved from the Ritz Carlton to the Powerscourt brand. We have invested significant resources in creating a new and attractive customer experience, the success of which is being shown by a strong trading performance in 2014 and further improvement into the start of 2015."
