Global asset manager Sarasin & Partners has cancelled its spring seminars in Dublin and London on the back of fears over the coronavirus.

The event in Dublin had been due to take place this Thursday at the Royal College of Physicians.

Meanwhile, in London the seminars had been due to take place Tuesday 3rd, Wednesday 4th and Thursday 12th March.

The conferences held by the specialist asset manager attract between 800 and 900 people.

“Rather than ask our attendees to decide whether they wish to attend or not, we felt the responsible thing to do was to take this burden on ourselves,” the company said.

Instead it will be videoing the various talks, which will be available to download.

In a short statement on its website, Sarasin & Partners said the decision to cancel the events was “clearly a great disappointment to all those involved.”

It added that it may reschedule the events later in the year, “depending on the severity of coronavirus and how the outbreak plays out.”
