Fáilte Ireland has spent around €220,000 on its 'Meet Dublin in London' promotion event, as it targets conferences and business tourism.

The Tourism Development Authority sees corporate tourism as a priority as the sector here prepares for Brexit - especially outside Dublin where there are Regional Convention Bureaux in Shannon, Cork, Kerry and Galway.

Fáilte Ireland's head of commercial development Paul Mockler said it was pushing "regional Ireland" to drive conferences and events. The event in London saw more than 300 UK buyers meet Irish hoteliers, venue operators and conference organisers.

A similar event last year has generated business worth €15m, Fáilte Ireland said.
