Fall in numbers of new mortgages
A total of 1,852 mortgages were approved in November, the Irish Brokers Federation said.
The number of mortgages approved fell 1.4pc from October, the IBF added. The value of mortgages approved in October was €334m of which €319m was for house purchase.
The value of mortgage approvals fell by 3.8pc on a monthly basis and by 3.5pc on an annual basis. A total of 15,601 mortgage approvals for house purchases were made in the first 11 months of the year. That marks a 5.8pc hike compared to the same period in 2012.
