Ex -checkout girl Mary still ringing up those sales

FORMER Tesco checkout worker Mary Byrne totted up a cash pile of over €100,000 last year, helped by her best-selling debut album.

New figures show that the Ballyfermot woman's Hetton Investment Ltd's accumulated profit at the end of 2011 stood at €90,724. The former 'X Factor' contestant had a cash pile of €108,484 at the firm.

The abridged accounts -- which do not give details of revenues or any dividends -- were prepared by Live Wire Business Management, which also acts for other stars, such as Cheryl Cole and Boyzone.

Hetton Investments Ltd recorded the profit after Ms Byrne's 'Mine and Yours' album went twice platinum in Ireland. Last year, Ms Byrne -- who will be 53 next week -- switched record labels from Sony to Universal and she released a second album 'With Love'.

The firm's revenues would have also been boosted by sales of her autobiography, 'This is My Life'.
