Ever wanted to sleep over in Tayto Park? First look at plans for a new hotel on the grounds

Ever dreamed of staying over in Tayto Park? Plans are afoot to build a seven storey hotel on the grounds of the park.

Tayto Park has confirmed that they have applied to Meath County Council for planning permission for a 32,000 sq m, 250 bedroom family hotel.

The hotel will offer accommodation and leisure facilities for up to 1,000 guests when completed.

It is expected that the hotel to cost in the region of €48m to build.

Tayto plans to build the seven story hotel from wood to be in keeping with the look and feel of Tayto Park and the parkland setting.

The hotel will include a spa, meeting rooms and a function room that can accommodate up to 1,200 people as well as a two sky bars and three restaurants.

It is estimated that the hotel will provide 150 jobs during construction, and 272 full and part-time jobs when completed.

No details have emerged yet about what will be on offer in any of the restaurants but we are willing to bet they will make a mean crisp sambo...
