Ericsson and SAP to create 380 jobs
TECHNOLOGY firms Ericsson and SAP are to create 380 jobs in Athlone, Galway and Dublin.
Software giant SAP, which already employs 1,200 people here, is to hire a further 260 people in Dublin and Athlone, including 60 R&D positions.
Meanwhile, Ericsson is to add 120 jobs in Athlone and Dublin including software development as well as programme management and consultancy roles.
Jobs Minister Richard Bruton said the ICT sector was one of the areas the Government is targeting through its action for jobs programme.
IDA boss Barry O'Leary said R&D carried out by Ericsson is cutting-edge and encourages other firms to broaden their research platforms.
