Eircom reports lower revenues

Revenues at telecommunications company Eircom fell by 4pc in the quarter to the end of December 2014 to €316m.

This compared to a 7pc decline the year before. Revenue for the six months to the end of the year was also down by 4pc to €629m on the back of fixed line access losses. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation fell by 4pc to €226m.

Fixed line access net losses were 22,000 for the six months to the end of December.

However, losses were offset slightly by a reduction in operating costs, which fell by 4pc or €18m to €403m for the six months to the end of December.
