Eight potential buyers interested in bidding for the Sunday Business Post, High Court hears
Eight potential buyers have said they are interested in bidding for the Sunday Business Post, the High Court has been told.
The Courts confirmed the appointment of Michael McAteer as examiner to Post Publications, the owner of the newspaper at a hearing today.
He had been acting as interim examiner since last Thursday. Since then eight different investors have emailed to say they could be interested in tabling an offer for the company, the Court was told.
There were no objections to the appointment of the Examiner, but lawyers for Webprint, a printing business, said they will monitor the case.
Webprint was left out of pocket when the newspaper’s parent Thomas Crosbie Holdings was taken into receivership last week, but is not a creditor of the company that actually owns the Sunday Business Post.
